About the Artist
"Grace Johnson is a recent high school graduate who is developing her love of sketching, painting and designing. Her influences range from E.H. Shepard to Vincent van Gogh. Grace has been involved with every artistic opportunity afforded to her including painting shoes, designing cards, and curating small art shows. She describes her art as taking real life objects or situations and adding an element of fantasy. Through her art she hopes viewers begin to see extraordinary glimpses in ordinary day-to-day life."
The first pair of Rockin' Soles shoes was out of a creative burst one late Sunday afternoon in February 2017. While painting I quickly realized I would be wearing my art in public. Going out and having people to react positively to the shoes that I had hand painted made me want to be able to paint more and more. Before Rockin' Soles I had only ever painted out of a feeling of needing to fit into the artist community. These shoes gave me the opportunity to learn to love painting and practice and experiment with many different types of painting.
